The DO’s and DO NOT’s when creating an advergame

As with all promotions, there are do’s and do not’s that companies should follow. When it comes to advergames……..

1) Don’t make it look like an ad - over marketing your message in the game will drive participants away.
2) Do offer virtual options to share the game with others.
3) Don’t place “roadblocks” in front of a game. Pitch a message at the end - you’ll get a better response.
4) Don’t implement large file sizes for games. They take too long to open and you’ll lose people.
5) Do your research on game designers. They are not all created equal - check out their track record to find the right fit.
6) Do make tracking tools a priority.
7) Don’t base game play around loud noises. Let’s face it, people usually play at the office…need I say more?
8) Don’t be too serious. People like to laugh - add humor!
