Like most states, I suspect that Florida is beating the bushes for revenues and is combing through everything to drum up cash. We recently paid a $500 fine to Florida after our sweeps registration was declared "late". This was technically true but only after they had returned the original application three days after the official start date because the name of the registering company did not EXACTLY match the name of the company on the surety bond - the former was missing the letters "Inc." at the end of the company name. I'm not kidding....Lesson learned.
